Software Licenses

This page explains how ManZi provides acknowledgements and license notices for third-party software components used in the app.

Last updated: 17 May 2026

ManZi is independently developed and may include third-party open-source software components. Where required by applicable licenses, ManZi provides relevant copyright notices, license texts, and acknowledgements within the app or in accompanying documentation.

1. Third-Party Software Components

ManZi may use open-source software libraries, frameworks, development tools, and supporting components to provide app functionality, user interface behaviour, media handling, local storage, text processing, speech features, image processing, purchase handling, app linking, and other technical features.

These third-party components remain the property of their respective copyright holders and are used under their applicable open-source or third-party license terms.

2. In-App License Notices

The complete list of applicable software license notices may be provided inside the ManZi app.

You can usually find these notices at:

  • Settings
  • About ManZi
  • Legal
  • Software Licenses

The in-app Software Licenses section may include package names, copyright notices, license texts, and other attribution information required by the relevant licenses.

3. No Endorsement

Use of third-party open-source software does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, partnership, approval, or affiliation between ManZi and the authors, maintainers, contributors, companies, foundations, or organisations associated with those software components.

4. ManZi Independent Work

Unless otherwise stated, ManZi’s app design, branding, learning flow, curriculum structure, Cantonese learning content, game mechanics, progress tracking, reward flow, database design, and app-specific business logic are independently developed by ManZi.

Third-party software components are used only as supporting technologies where applicable.

5. Open Source & Data Source Notices

Some ManZi features may also use or reference third-party data sources, dictionary data, character stroke data, or educational reference materials. These are covered separately from general software package licenses.

Please see: Open Source Licenses & Data Source Notices
